City police launched the annual Cram-A-Cruiser drive for the Kawartha Food Share on Thursday.

The pre-Thanksgiving food collection continues Friday.

Shoppers are being asked to fill  city police cruisers full of non-perishable food items for the Kawartha Food Share and Lakefield Food Bank.

The event continues Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both Sobeys and Foodland locations in Peterborough and the Foodland in Lakefield.

Every month Kawartha Food Share helps more than 8,100 men women and children through its 36 member agencies.

This includes their four meal programs, four city food banks, six housing projects, seven county food banks and more than 20 food cupboards across Peterborough city and county.
