Brock Mission

Brock Mission provides emergency short-term shelter for single men and women aged 25 and up. Singles 16 years and up may be accepted if they cannot access other shelters. Warming Room services may be available nightly during the colder weather.

Brock Mission’s food program provides dinner to men, women and children, at 217 Murray Street, Monday to Friday from 5-7 pm.

Support services include help to find housing, get personal identification, and access community services.

Crossroads I and II

The YWCA of Peterborough, Victoria and Haliburton exists to support the rights of all women and their families to live free from violence, poverty and oppression. Crossroads I and II provide safe, secure shelter for women, with or without children, who are fleeing abuse in their lives. Rural Outreach Centre (R.O.C.)

The Rural Outreach Centre (R.O.C.) provides 24 hour, short term shelter within Peterborough County and surrounding rural areas for women and families who are victims of violence or victims of natural disasters.

  • 24 hour temporary shelter
  • food and clothing (delivered)
  • transportation
  • court attendance
  • attendance to social services and doctor visists
  • counselling, provided by Alderville Shelter at R.O.C. site
  • spiritual counselling provided by trained volunteers upon request
  • referals to other services


Youth Emergency Shelter (YES)

The Youth Emergency Shelter of Peterborough (YES) exists to provide emergency shelter and related services to youth while providing opportunities for positive growth and change within the City and County of Peterborough. YES also serves families who have children under the age of 16 in their family area.

Services Include:

  • emergency and transitional shelter to homeless youth aged 16-24, and for families in its family room
  • Emergency shelter for families with children
  • second stage housing for ten youth for up to one year
  • skills training programs for out-of-school and out-of-work youth
  • alternative secondary school education in its classroom
